I am a stay at home mom of a sweet little girl and her little baby brother! Madison was born in July 2004, and my life hasn't been the same ever since. I love staying home with her and Jonah and watching them change a little more with each day!

A trip to the doctor

Okay now I have to start this all over. I had it all typed out when it decided to disappear on me. Grr.

We went to the doctor yesterday and everything was still looking good. Yay! She weighed in at 11 lbs 10 oz and was 21 3/4 in long. Don't ask how she managed to shrink 1/4 inch in a month. :) Doc says one of them was obviously wrong... babies don't shrink! She had to get her shots... 3 pricks in one setting, ouch! She wailed her poor little head off. Even the nurse cried for her. I can't imagine having to stick little babies and make them cry like that every day. She slept a lot of the day afterwards. I don't know if it was the Tylenol that made her sleepy or the shots but when she was awake she was crying for several hours afterwards. She was fine by last night, though, and didn't want to go to sleep. She definitely fought us pretty hard. Okay, so I sat idly by while Curtis paced the bedroom until 1:30 with her. Hehe. He's much better at laying her down than I am. She slept until 8:30, though, so who's complaining?

We still haven't moved her into her crib yet, but the bassinet is good up to 15 lbs so we have some time. I don't think any of us are quite ready yet. It will happen eventually. I put her to bed tonight at 9:30 in the hopes that she would stay asleep for a few hours at least, but it sounds like she is waking up. No! I really want her to get into a 9 or 10 bedtime, but no matter when I put her to bed she is wide awake around 11. It's only 10 now, so if she eats one more time and then sleeps for the rest of the night that would be okay. We'll see. She did go to sleep without screaming one night earlier this week. The doc said to expect that for another month or 2. I suppose I can handle that. Once she is asleep she is out for a good stretch, it's just the getting her to sleep thing that's tough.

Well, I better post this before it disappears on me again. I'm not in the mood to type my message 3 times tonight!
