the poor coyote...

Please... whatever you do... do NOT mention the coyote to Madison! I'm seriously serious about this! It was very distressing to her. We went trick or treating at the Anderson mall tonight (for real, I think all of Anderson was there... it was so packed!) and the DNR had a display table. For some reason they had a real stuffed coyote. Madison was petting it and all in awe of it... until I told her that it used to be alive but wasn't anymore. That was absolutely the saddest thing ever to her! She started bawling about the coyote dying. I felt horrible! I now know to just let her believe that any taxidermy-ed animals we see are just stuffed animals. Hopefully we won't see many more, but I suppose I should be prepared. Luckily, there was a reptile display on the next table and the (alive) snakes and frogs really cheered her up. Though she has mentioned that poor coyote a few times since we got home.

Happy 4 months birthday Jonah!

Halloween-ing

So we've been Halloween-ing lately... hitting the party circuit, ya know... I decided to get creative with my pictures this time and frame them all up... enjoy!

The party at the YMCA was fun! Madison almost made it up the rope thing... I was impressed! She was the littlest kid I actually saw who attempted it and almost made it! She tried so hard, but her arms just gave out about a foot from the top.

And how cute are they??? This was taken before the YMCA party at home.

These teeth were a prize at the YMCA party... eek! She's the cutest freaking werewolf I think I have ever seen!

We always enjoy parties at the Anderson library! Sorry if the flowers are a little too girly for pics of Jonah... I tend to go overboard with flowers and bows! I love that first picture... you have to watch that hood! He was passed out by the time it was over!

The Yorktown FD had a fun party... Madison enjoyed the games, but it was pretty crowded and I couldn't get a lot of great pics. They did a haunted hayride, but we were afraid Madison would be too scared, so we skipped that part. Again, Jonah slept...

Okay... this is just a fun little comparison of Madison & Jonah wearing the same costume!

Finally all better

We are finally all getting better around here! Jonah's temperature got up to 104.1 this past weekend. I was a little nervous about that, but the nurse at the after hours call center said that as long as it stayed below 105, he should be okay until he can see the doctor. Turns out he had a cold and an ear infection. The doc was pretty surprised about the ear infection, since breastfed babies almost never get them. Obviously that is not 100%, though. Madison has never had an ear infection, nor was she ever sick when she was this little, so this is new to me. I don't love giving a tiny baby medicine. He either spits it out or throws it up. He is doing a little better at keeping it down, but I know that when all is said and done he will only manage to swallow about half of that bottle of medicine. As long as he gets better, though, it should be fine. They don't even give antibiotics for ear infections if the baby is over 6 months, so I'm sure he will be okay.

We got Madison's soccer pictures back this week. She is very cute! I don't know whose ball she was holding (I wasn't there when they took the pic), but the other kids all seem to be holding their own balls in the pictures. Don't know why she didn't... the ball she is holding is huge! Definitely not a size 3! Crabtree Photography took them, and I think they did a fabulous job!

Still waiting on those school pics...

So soccer is over for the season. Madison will miss it, I'm sure. She seemed sad when I told her it was her last game. I think they do a spring season, so she will be on the field (pitch?) again before we know it.

She had her school Halloween party yesterday... that was fun. It was nice to put a face to the names I hear her talk about. So many Halloween parties to go to this year!

So...

Jonah and I missed out on Madison scoring a goal last night! It was so cold and windy, that we moved Madison's carseat into the Saturn and Jonah & I went home. Well... we actually went to Meijer to get milk and then went home, but whatever. We didn't stay for the game. Jonah doesn't have a coat that fits him yet. His winter coat is 6-12 months and is currently too large for him. I wonder if I will be able to find a used coat to get through the next couple of months... I'm sure that his will fit him by Christmas. Oh, but anyway... Yay! Madison scored a goal! SmileyCentral.com

Last night my temp got really high and my eyelids swelled up like balloons. Weird huh? It was pretty freaky, although my temp is down now after 5 days of fever and my eyelids are only a little swollen still. My throat still hurts like the dickens, though. Yeesh! I am going to the doc tomorrow to get checked out. I hope I didn't/don't pass this onto anyone else! I don't want anyone to be as miserable as I have been this past week!

Geez-o. Little Miss Bossy over there is telling me that we NEED goldfish crackers. As though it were a life or death situation. I'm sure the world will stop if she doesn't get some goldfish crackers. I hope we all come through it okay.... because I am not going to get her any goldfish crackers right now. Alas.

I wanna be better!

Wah!! I am so sick of being sick! My fever is still going up! It was over 102 today, my throat hurts like crazy, I'm sooo achy and weak and grumpy. I always get grumpy when I am sick. I just wanna lay in bed all day, but of course I can't do that. Jonah and I had to skip the mom/baby connection thing today. I wasn't about to go and get all those little babies sick. And it's going to be cold for soccer tomorrow. Thanks to my fever I'm cold all the time anyway so I will be freezing if I still have a fever. Eek! I was cold yesterday and it was 90 degrees! Hehe.

Madison finally had her soccer pictures taken last night, so I will post one for all to see as soon as we get them back. I'm still waiting for her school pictures! I thought they would be back by now.

Blech... it's my turn I guess

I'm sick now! It definitely feels like the flu. I'm achy, feverish, and just all over yucky feeling. And my glands are so swollen that I can feel them. I can never feel them! I don't know how Madison kept telling me that she felt fine. Obviously I got this from her, since she had the fever first. I so do not feel fine! I hope Jonah doesn't come down with it. My antibodies better be working hard for him!

Oh! Someone is awake! Better run...

Lil' Fairy Girl

Well, Madison's temperature was down enough today for me to okay her activities and she had a ball! The big one was the Halloween party at the Children's Museum.

Expect to see many more photos of her in this costume, since she has tons more parties she will be going to this month! She has been asking for this Disney Fairy skirt for ages now. She was so set to be a fairy for Halloween. For some reason, though, she didn't want the full dress, she just wanted the skirt and wings. Which means, of course, that we had to get her a leotard to go with it. The only colors I could find in her size (still actually a little big) that were within our price range (think Walmart & Meijer) were pink and black. Naturally, with a blue / green / purple skirt and wings, the black one would have been the obvious choice, right? Of course not! Madison was adamant that she have the pink one. There was no getting around it, and believe me I tried. I told her it wouldn't match, but she did not care. She wanted pink! So... since it is her costume, I finally gave in. Hence the pink leotard and blue skirt. Ah well, she is super cute anyway!

Anyway... she had a blast at the museum, while Jonah slept through much of it. He didn't wear his costume as it is fleece and it was almost 90 degrees today. His costume will look familiar to many of you. This is the only year he will be able to wear Madison's old costume, so he will. I don't think it would be appropriate for him to go as Pebbles Flintstone next year.

Another fun filled day in my life.

Ha! It was actually rather boring. It was really freaking hot (in October!) and we went to the playground to sweat. Yuck.

Madison was supposed to do show and tell today, but she says that they didn't do it. So who knows? Sometimes she will tell me that she didn't do things at school that I know full well they did do. So I don't know what happened. She took some cute little pony things that she got from her friend Hannah for her birthday. It was a change, considering for the weeks leading up to her turn she kept saying she was taking her baby doll, and this week she suddenly decided she was taking ponies instead. Whatever she wanted was fine with me!

She is currently running a fever of around 102... I hope she is fine tomorrow since there are some fun things lined up. We'll see I guess.

Happy birthday Greg! Not that you ever read this... but I always remember your birthday because it is 10-4. Hehe... you are 30...

What We Did Today (Wednesday)

Nothing really too out of the ordinary...

Madison got to go see her most favoritest librarian in the whole world... Miss Toni in Anderson. And she got to eat cookies. There is no better game than one that ends with you eating cookies. Right? Right! When we go, Jonah gets oohed and aahed over by pretty much everyone, but Miss Toni always gives her attention to Madison. I like that. Madison has always loved her, she is just fab!

Ahh, soccer. Eek... it was a rough game tonight! One kid got poked in the eye (he was fine), and another dislocated her shoulder. Ouch! Oh, but Madison held hands with a boy. Awww. Hehe. He is on her team and is so the boy equivalent of her. He is so silly... I just love him!

Anyhoo... that was our day. Good night!

I'm tired

So I'll keep this short. Madison still plays soccer...

This is what she does anytime the other team scores a goal. Hehe... she drops to her knees in exasperation.

Jonah still enjoys watching her...

Thanks cuz for the sweatshirt... I would have frozen my booty off otherwise! It was chilly this evening! Okay... maybe not quite that cold.

I took Jonah to the Mom/Baby Connection thing today. It was nice to get to do something with just him for a change. He seemed to enjoy it as much as a 3 month old baby can. They weigh them there and he is up to 14 lbs 12 oz. Pretty average, I guess, maybe just a little above. But Madison was always below average, so he seems rather large to me. Other people tend to comment on him being big too, but I don't know. I put it into a growth percentile calculator and it said 50-75th percent for his age. So it's not terribly huge.

Anyway... as I said before... I'm tired. Good night.
