Crib recall

Ugh. Our crib has been recalled because of a defective drop side thingy. Jonah isn't sleeping in it yet at night, and not much during the day, so it isn't a huge deal. But still.... this is the same crib we bought for Madison. It makes me sick to think that something could have happened when she was using it daily.

soccer!

Just a cute pic of Madison playing soccer!

Roly Poly Jonah

Little dude actually rolled from his tummy to his back tonight! I thought babies usually did back to tummy first (Madison certainly did anyway). He had been getting pretty close for awhile now and he was laying in his playpen, just woken up from a nap. Curtis and I were actually talking about how close he was getting when I looked over and he was on his back! Neither of us even saw it happen, but he had the biggest grin when we went over to him. He was so proud of himself! Then he tried to go right back. He got all of his body over, but couldn't, or wouldn't (I'm not sure) go over his shoulder. He looked quite content to lay there on his side with his leg flung over. What a big boy! He's been napping on his tummy for a couple of weeks now (still on his back at night and will stay that way until he figures out to flip himself), and I think that has a lot to do with the incredible progress he has made as far as neck and shoulder strength. He can lift his head way up high now... chest and all! I was so worried that he wasn't going to reach that milestone on time... he showed me, I guess. He is still favoring the left, but doesn't cry out quite as much when I stretch him to the right. He gets more mad than in pain now.

Little Miss Independent gave me such a look Sunday when I was leaving her in Sunday School and asked if she was going to be fine. She just looked at me like duh! It was the first time at a new church, so I just wanted to be sure. She loved it, though, and can't wait to go back there. I enjoyed the service too, so we will be back.

Well, it's super late, and I am pretty tired. Good night!

Cuties!

I was getting some great looks from Jonah after a bath last week... he has already figured out that Mommy is crazy!

I think the look here is saying: "Snowmen Mommy? In September? Seriously?"
Hey, it fits now! It won't fit in the wintertime... it's just jammies anyway!

And this is my sweet Madison on her way to day 2 of school! She really loves that place!

Last night Madison started soccer and it was so fun! I forgot my camera, but there are still 11 games left, so I will get pictures eventually. She had fun kicking her ball around, though she seemed a little confused when they cut down to one ball and it wasn't hers. She didn't think she was supposed to go after someone else's ball, so she just hung back. She got the hang of it though and was running around with the rest of them before long!

Have I mentioned...

That Jonah loves to suck his thumb? It's very cute!

Day 2 of preschool was good, I think. She was upset that they played outside but not at the playground. They rode bikes and trikes, which I'm sure was fun, but she is just itching to get to that playground!

Whew! Lots of stuff!

We've been kinda busy since I was around here last! Well, maybe not so so busy, but it seems like a lot has happened in the past week.

Madison was kinda sick last week. Uck. She is doing much better now, though! Thank goodness... I didn't want her to be sick when she started school!

We had Jonah's 2 month appointment and he is still growing like a weed. The doc actually said he slowed down a little to average out, but he still seems big to me! He is definitely bigger than Madison was at this age. Okay, remind me.... DO NOT compare one child to the other. Yeah, I know they say that... but is it really possible not to? Seeing as Madison and Jonah are polar opposites so far I need to remember not to though. So... he weighed in at 13lbs 2oz and was 23 inches long. He isn't a big tummy time kid, though. For example... I put him on his tummy for some "quality" tummy time in his playpen while I helped Madison potty about an hour or so ago. Hmm... by the time we were out of the bathroom he was out like a light. So much for working those neck and shoulder muscles. I have to help him stretch his neck muscles everyday too since he is always looking to the left. He is getting a little better, but still prefers the left. He doesn't like me making him look to the right though. Not a bit! At least he fell asleep with his head looking to the right. Usually he sleeps looking to the left.

We couldn't really afford any big plans for Labor Day weekend, so we stayed close to home. That was still fun though! We took walks to the playground and the duck pond. It was such a nice weekend! Madison loves that duck pond and had been asking to go for awhile now, so she was thrilled to get to go. I really wanted to go see Hootie & the Blowfish at RibFest... though I don't eat ribs. It's just too much to go to Indy right now, though. I wish gas wasn't so expensive!

And ::drumroll:: yesterday was Madison's big day! She had her first day of preschool! I think I was more nervous than she was. She loved it, of course. And I nearly cried after I dropped her off. I got to meet her teacher when she got out of the car, though, and she seems really nice. They are having a "meet the teacher" thing in 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to that. She had lots to talk about after she came out. She can't wait to go back.

Today we got to go to storytime... we had taken some time off from that after Jonah was born. I decided he was old enough to behave now, though, so we went. He did behave very well. The kids played with instruments and he was enthralled with all the different sounds. He just sat on my lap and watched everything going on. We ended up being at the library for 2 hours. He was very well behaved and ended up going to sleep after a mid-morning meal. So Madison got to play with a couple of other girls who stayed after also. That was fun. She loves making new friends. I do want to get back to Anderson's storytime sometimes, though. I love the ladies that work at that library. They all know and love Madison... hopefully we can swing the trip at least a couple of times a month. I still don't feel as "at home" at the Muncie libraries.

We have conquered preschool... next week... soccer!
