Owie!

Maddie busted her lip today! It wasn't too bad, but it did bleed some. In an effort to cut back on the amount of stuff we have been sorting through our cd collection. We had a few stacked just inside the door to our bedroom, and naturally that is where Madison chose to fall down. She hit her lip on the corner of a cd, and it started bleeding and swelled up. I gave her an ice cube in her safe feeder and cuddled on the couch to watch Barney. The ice really helped, as she isn't swollen anymore. She just has a little spot on her lip that is a little redder than the rest. :)

In case anyone was curious, you can check out the specs on our new apartment here. I'm anxious to move, but so sad too. I hope I can find good homes soon for my babies. I wish they could all come with me. :( If anyone knows of good homes, please please please email me!

Yellow!

She is getting better! She was actually pointing to things that are yellow today when she said yellow. She pointed to orange a few times, but that is pretty close, so not too bad. It's amazing how quickly they will pick things up!

Doctor visit

Of course, Madison is doing great! She weighed in at 20lbs 12oz, and is 28 inches tall. (That means she is short and chubby, lol) She cried her little head off from the shots, naturally, but was consoled when the nurse gave her a book to take home with her. Her head bump is still around, but the doc said it he isn't concerned about it. It's just a large lymph node.

She is very clearly saying "yellow" now. She used to say "yow" but now she actually says "yellow." Of course, she thinks that all colors are yellow, but how much can you really expect? :) If we say any other color, or ask what color something is, it is always "yellow!"

Yesterday we went to the water park in Middletown, but I forgot the camera, so no pictures! I forgot her ball too (shouldn't I have learned by now?) so she had to "borrow" from other kids. Which was mostly okay, but there was one boy whose mom had let Maddie have his ball and he got upset and pouty, so we gave it back to him. It was his ball after all. She had lots of fun, and I will try to remember her ball from now on!

We got approved for the apartment in Anderson and our move-in date is set for Oct 1st. I like living in the house, but this one is infested with nasty ugly spiders from mid-August through early October and I am freaking out over here as they are starting to appear again. I'm such a weenie! I'm scared getting dressed, putting on my shoes, going to the bathroom, taking a shower, going to bed, etc. Pretty much all the time basically. Every little dark spot on the wall or floor makes me jump 10 feet. Don't get me started on floating dog hair... yikes!

Spoke too soon...

Madison did get a sunburn after all! If only I could find the camera, I would put a picture up to show you. Hmm... oh well. She was being very wiggly trying to take off and go play, and I was afraid I was going to get the sunscreen in her eyes. Well, I definitely didn't get any sunscreen in her eyes! She had little red rings under both of her eyes because I didn't get the sunscreen close enough. :( I felt so bad, she looked like she had been beat up. I put aloe on it and it looks much better today. It is still a little pink, but not much. I'll have to find the camera so you can see the pictures.

She is obsessed with balls now! It is her new word. She walks through the house saying "baaawwwll." She was thrilled at Gingerbread Babies on Wednesday when they brought out a bag of balls to play with. Very very cute! Almost as if on cue, she just jumped up and grabbed her ball and said "baaawwwll!" Time to go play ball!

Kimberly the Tomato here

Oops... in my efforts to keep Madison from running out the door and into the water on her own, I failed to apply my own sunscreen this morning at the WaterBowl. No worrys, I remembered Madison's! I, however, am already turning into a big tomato. Ah well, life goes on, I guess. It definitely isn't the first time I have had a sunburn, and I'm sure it won't be the last. We had loads of fun! I need to get Madison a floaty ring, preferably one with a seat, but she enjoyed the one without she played in today. She borrowed one from a girl that is in our playgroup who wasn't using it, and she thought she was big stuff floating around in the deeper water. Don't worry! I was keeping hold of her under the water so she wouldn't fall in. She loved the little fishies in the shallow water. She would just sit and watch as they came right up to her. When they started swimming into my bathing suit, though, I decided it was time to scare them off! She did seem to be a little confused though, as she kept trying to do the breaststroke in the sand rather than in the water. We will get her straightened out one of these days! We had a lot of fun... we just might have to go back sometime!

I'm going to go doodle around while Madison sleeps the afternoon away. Between Gingerbread Baby storytime and swimming at the WaterBowl, she was pooped!

big update

Sorry to all of you devoted blog readers, but I have been a bit "off" the past couple of weeks so I have barely been online, let alone wanting to update the site. Please forgive me! :)

We went to the zoo last weekend and that was tons of fun. Maddie loved all of the animals and wanted to give them all hugs. Even the rhinos and snakes... strange girl. ;) I got some pictures to put up, but don't have them ready to load yet. I'll get to it someday, though. We were supposed to go to the Ft Wayne zoo yesterday with the playgroup, but Madison got a fever and we couldn't go. She seems mostly better today. I thought she felt a little warm earlier but I didn't take her temperature and she seems to be in good spirits.

All this girl wants to eat anymore is cheese and crackers. She goes to the doctor for her checkup on the 19th, so I will ask him if this is okay or not. She is still nursing, so I know she is getting nutrients that way, but she needs to eat more veggies and fruits! I do too for that matter, hehe.

I gotta go for now... I will check back later, and hopefully have some pictures to share!
