Sunday ramblings

We all went to see Grandpa today and he is unhooked from all those tubey things. Yay! :) Great Grandma Brett, Uncle Dennis, & Aunt Susan were there too. I finally got a 4 generation picture with Grandma Brett. :) Madison was so cute with her Care Bear. She wanted everyone to hug it, and she would point at whoever she wanted to hug it next. It was pretty funny. I think she would have let everyone pass that bear around all day if we hadn't had to leave.

Ugh... Madison is sleeping on my shoulder and she smells like Spaghettios. Blech! She had baby food lasagna for dinner and it smelled exactly like Spaghettios. I imagine it tasted like them too. Gross! Can you tell I don't like Spaghettios? It is a fun word to say, though. Spaghettios. :)

She played in the nursery at church today for the first time. I stayed with her, and probably will next week too. After that, we might try to see how she does without me. She is fine until an adult she doesn't know picks her up. She would play with them all day as long as they don't pick her up.

Mmm... I think the grilled cheese that Chef Curtis is fixing is done. Check back later!

update

Madison: Project Walking is still a no go. She is getting braver though. I know she can do it, she just chooses not to most of the time.

Wednesday we spent the whole day at the hospital since Grandpa Perry had surgery. Madison and Audrey played together and were remarkably well behaved. They even napped at the same time. Audrey slept for over 2 hours! When we did get to see Grandpa, he was still very tired and didn't feel very good, so we didn't stay for long. We are going to go back today and see him. They say that he is feeling better now! :)

Madison's newest thing to do is barking like a dog. It's pretty funny. If you say anything about a doggy to her she will start barking. It really doesn't sound much like a dog... more like a mouse barking, lol. She goes "bowwowowowowowow!"

I suppose we better get ready to start the day. It's 930, and we are both still hanging out in our jammies!

Madison: Project Walking

I'm still waiting for Madison to take off on two instead of four. I hoped she would do it by her 11 month birthday, but it isn't looking like it will happen. She was doing more last night, though. She kept pulling up onto my exercise ball (!?) and letting go to walk over to me. So who knows? Babies are just too unpredictable, huh? ;) I'm sure it won't be long before she is doing everything exactly how and when I want her too. Right? HA! I may be a new parent, but come on, I'm not that naive! Well, I am quite hungry, so I'll have to check back later. I'll keep you updated on Madison: Project Walking. Wow, I'm a dork! :)

Whew!

There has been a lot going on! Madison has been a very busy girl. Wow, all the way back to Memorial Day...

Well, we went to Terre Haute as planned. It was nice to see everyone! Madison had lots of fun swinging with Audrey and jabbering to everyone.

The next weekend, we went swimming! Okay, well, we sat in a little baby pool in the backyard, but same thing, right? It was like 90 degrees outside, but the water was kinda chilly. It was fun, nonetheless.

Maddie and Veronica have become great friends! I need to get some pictures of Madison hugging her. It's so cute how she wraps her arms around the horse's neck, lol. They love to take walks together. We go in the stroller now, and Madison always tries to help hold the leash.

Of course the biggest news is that she is getting better at walking! She will walk back and forth between Curtis and me. She's up to 6 or 7 steps at a time now. She will be off and running soon. For now, though, she still prefers crawling and her Hippo.
