She's a-moving!

She is finally crawling! Not that she didn't get herself around just fine before, but now she does it the right way. And she started to pull herself up in the crib. Last night she woke up and I got out of bed but didn't go into her room. She got quiet for a couple of minutes so I peeked my head around the door and she was standing there just waiting for me. I told her there was no way she was going to go back to sleep standing up! Silly girl. Her new favorite thing to do is watch the television super close up. She crawls up to the entertainment center and pulls herself up to it. Then she cranes her head all the way back to see the tv. She has even turned on her Praise Baby DVD a few times. Apparently she knows which disc it is in the changer and only pushes that button. She's too smart for me. Here is a picture of her earlier today after she turned on her DVD.

That's how she likes to watch tv.

Here are her 7 month pics I took:

She is such a ham for the camera, lol.

She wants to walk so badly. It is funny to watch her (holding my hands). She lifts her legs up really high like she is marching. She hasn't quite mastered going forward consistently though. She will sometimes step backwards or she will step forward with the same foot twice and end up practically in a split. And she has pretty much no balance at all. I know she will be doing it before too long, though. She tries so hard!

She is growing so fast!

She does something new everyday practically! She has started saying "dada" now. When I played his ringtone on my cellphone last night her face lit up and she said "hi dada!" It was so cute. She knows that when it plays that song it is him. She has also learned to pull herself up to a standing position. She is totally obsessed with doing this too. She will pull herself up on anything she can get her hands on, except in her crib. She hasn't done that yet, but I'm expecting to find her standing in there someday when I go to get her. We finally got her 6 month pictures back and I scanned them in. I made them into a cute little collage thingy for you guys to see. Obviously, I cropped and blurred the edges. They don't actually look like that. :)

Isn't she a little cutie?

Well, I can't think of anything else to write about, so I will let you all get back to your daily lives.

Check back later!

update

Her first fruit wasn't quite the hit I hoped it would be. She wasn't really a big fan of bananas. I couldn't believe it. She had pears later in the week, though, and absolutely loved them. We did bananas again yesterday, though, and she gobbled them down. She pretty much gobbles anything anymore. She will get applesauce this afternoon.

We taught her to bang her toys together, so now she is a little noisemaker. She will bang two toys if she has one in each hand, or she will bang hers against one you are holding. The more noise she can make the better!

She is trying to crawl under her playpen, so I suppose I better go rescue her! Check back later!

checkup

Madison's checkup at the doctor's went well. He said she is doing great and is even a little advanced with her verbal skills! :) She weighs 15 lbs 14 oz and is 25 1/4 inches long. Her head is still tiny, coming in at the 3rd-5th percentile. I don't think the doctor was too concerned about it, she has always had a small head.

She is eating carrots now, and really doesn't like them much at all! She starts sweet potatoes tonight, and gets to have fruit next week. That should be a much more pleasant experience!

She learns something new everyday, it seems. She sits up so straight like a pro, and is even clapping her hands now. We always clap for her when she eats her baby food, and the other night she clapped for Curtis and I while we ate our dinner. It was pretty cute.

I better get some things done around here while Madison is sleeping! Check back later!
