Green Beans

We have been doing green beans the past few days, and I think she likes them. Now I know she isn't my daughter, lol. Here are a couple of pics of her eating / wearing them.

Let me do it!

These are just as much fun to wear as they are to eat!

Other than that, there really isn't much going on around here. We go to the doctor for her well baby visit and shots Monday morning, so I'll let you know how that goes when we get back. Hopefully she takes the shots as well as the last time.

Look at me!

Look what Madison was up to today.

LOL, she went all the way in, then all the way back out the other side! Silly girl!

walking?

Woah... I know I just posted, but I had to mention this. I just went to rescue her from crawling over to the door. I picked her up and stood her up on the floor like I always do, and she started taking steps! I've been able to force her to take steps before, but she has never done it on her own! That's crazy! Of course, she doesn't have enough balance to even remotely do it by herself, but I still thought it was pretty cool that she was doing it holding my hands. She still doesn't even crawl properly yet. :)

Squash!

We did squash last night. She seemed to like it. She gobbled down 1/2 a jar and then ate 1/2 a jar of peas. It didn't smell so great, though. I don't even know what squash tastes like... my 6 month old daughter is a more adventurous eater than I am, lol. Sunday night she was so cute after she finished eating. I wiped her high chair tray down with a wet paper towel and set it on the tray while I went to grab a cloth to wipe her face with. When I turned around, she was wiping her own hands with the paper towel. I cracked up, she looked so cute. Then when she was all done and I was about to take her out of the chair, Veronica brought a grimy old dog toy and dropped it in her lap. I guess Veronica decided that Madison wasn't so bad after all. She must seem like she would be fun to play with. It was kinda gross that she dropped such a grimy toy on Madison, but still it was cute that she wanted to play with her.

I'm really bad at this, lol

Poo, I thought I had already written about her peas and such. Sorry!! She didn't like the peas much at all at first.

After a couple of days of her barely eating any, though, she started gobbling them down like they were the greatest food ever invented. We start with squash tomorrow. We gave her oatmeal starting on Thursday, and that is by far her favorite cereal. It must be delicious! :)

We took her today to get her pictures taken at JC Penney. In case anyone was wondering... they are 1000 times better than Sears! The only thing I didn't like is that I can't look at them online. But they come in on Feb 15th, and I will scan them in and post them on here when I get them so you all can see them. She did so well! And the photographer was great with her. I can't wait to get them back so I can show them off to everyone.

Ice Storm

It's been a busy couple of weeks! The day after her cereal, our power went out and stayed out for 6 full days! We didn't get our phones back until Friday, so they were out for 9 days. Madison and I went up to Hartford City and stayed with my parents for the whole time, while Curtis stayed here and tried to keep the pets warm with Mom & Dad's kerosene heater. While we were very grateful that we had a warm place to stay, we were all very happy to get back into our own comfy beds! The tree in our front yard was the first thing to go in my block. It looked really pretty though when the snow hit Friday night.

What actually prompted us to get the heck out of the house was when we heard a really loud crash in the backyard. Several days later when I finally decided it was safe enough to go out there, I saw what it was that made such a racket.

This tree took out our fence and our phone line. No wonder it was so loud! All the trees are cleaned up and our phone line is fixed, I'm just waiting for the fence to get fixed so Veronica can run free back there again. It was definitely an adventure!

We started giving Madison barley cereal last Wednesday. She isn't as fond of it as she was the rice cereal, but she still eats it okay. I gave her rice cereal this morning, and it confused her again. She had gotten used to the barley, so the change threw her off again. Tonight we are starting her with peas. Yuck! We'll see how that goes. She may spit that out all over the place.

Her new thing is getting up onto her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. She has tried moving forward, but other than a few times when she has actually made it a few strides, she usually just ends up doing a faceplant on the floor. She's definitely trying though. She gets around plenty fast anyway, so I don't know what the hurry is.

Okay, well, if I think of anything else I will come back. Otherwise I'll be back later tonight or tomorrow to tell you how the peas went!

I had cereal!

Yum!

She loved every bite of it! She threw a fit when Curtis stopped feeding her for a second to clean her face off.

She's such a big girl now... sigh. :) Per the ped, we are going to stick with cereal until she's 6 months, and then move onto veggies. We will probably try some different cereals before then though. Oatmeal or barley, maybe. We gave her rice cereal tonight. I can't say that it looked too delicious, but she loved it!

Happy New Year!

Well, it's been a good year so far! Madison didn't survive to see the ball drop. She dropped off for the night around 11. I told her the next day we were going to have to trade her in for a 2005 model but she didn't seem too concerned. We can't be going around with last year's model! Tomorrow we are giving her cereal for the first time. I'll let you know how that goes.

I went in to get her from her nap this afternoon and about fell over laughing when I saw her. I don't know how she did it, but her shirt was half off! Granted it is a little big on her (6-9 months), but I'm still not quite sure how she managed to pull it off like she did.

I just know she is going to be one of those kids that pulls her clothes off every chance she gets! She just loves to be naked!

Well, it's about time to change her into her jammies and give her some dinner. Check back later!
