First Christmas

Madison had a great first Christmas! She got lots of cool presents, and got to meet some of her family for the first time ever. It was a very busy 3 days, but she behaved so well. I was really proud of her.

Friday night we went to Grandma & Grandpa Perry's house, which was loads of fun.

That's her posing with her blanket that Aunt Kelli made for her.

Saturday morning we did Christmas at home. That was really fun with just the three of us. She loved her toys, but the wrapping paper was the best part.

Then we went to Granny's house where she met some new people. She liked all her cousins, but didn't get to stay too long since we had to go home to catch the return of JO with the Pacers. They lost... boo.

Sunday we went to Aunt Kristi's house to have Christmas with the Brett family. Again, she got to meet more new people, who she really loved!

That's her chilling with Grandpa watching the Colts game. Go Peyton!

Well, I'm going to get down on the floor and join her playing with all her new Christmas toys. Catch ya later!

She slept in her crib

Last night Madison slept in her crib all night long! I know... finally. She is just under the weight limit on her Pack N Play bassinet, and it had started to bow from her sleeping on it every night. I watched her Monday night struggle to find a comfortable spot, and decided that it was probably time to put her in her crib. She needs a comfy, flat place to sleep. So yesterday I let her nap in there and she slept for 2 1/2 hours in her crib! Keep in mind that she usually naps for about 45 minutes at a time. So last night I lay her down at 11:30 (my little night owl) and she stayed in there until 9:30 this morning. She only woke up once just after midnight, and a quick backrub put her right back to sleep. She's actually napping in there right now, and has been for over an hour. I guess my girl just wants to grow up and sleep in her own room. :(

First trip to Madison

Madison went to Madison this weekend. The trip down was pretty easy, she slept most of the way. We stopped at Grandma & Grandpa Thornton's house, which was really fun. She really liked visiting with them. Then we went to Austin's 6th birthday party. That was really fun. He gave her a little rubber duck that he won at Gatti-land for her, and it has just about become her favorite toy. On the way down there she figured out how to play peek a boo. That was totally cute! She kept pulling the blanket up over her face and pulling it down when I said "Peek a boo!" She was having a lot of fun with it. She learns something new just about every day.

This morning she got to open her Secret Santa gift from Babycenter. It was her first Christmas present! She, of course, didn't know how to pull the paper off, but once I got it off for her she wanted to play with the paper as much as the toy! She got Peek a Blocks and a pretty blue outfit. She did love the blocks once I took the wrapping paper away.

Only a few more days until Madison's first Christmas!

Snow!

Madison felt snow on her face for the first time today, and she loved it! She stuck her tongue out and let the snowflakes melt on it. It was pretty cute. We're hoping for a good big snow so she can try out her snowsuit and make snow angels! There's not really much going on right now... just getting ready for Christmas.

She's getting closer!

Madison pushed all the way up onto her hands and knees tonight! She only held it for about 2 seconds and didn't go anywhere, but it surprised me to see her do it already. She had been doing the army crawl all night, after doing an inchworm kind of movement for the last week or so. She is getting there way too fast!

Her Grandma Perry is having knee surgery tomorrow. Great-Grandma Brett & Uncle Dennis are coming up, and Madison is super excited to see them. Okay... well, she didn't exactly say so, but I know she is.

I'm going to go... I just wanted to get on here and tell everyone about her newest accomplishment. Oh! I almost forgot... here is a picture of her sitting.

She still has to lean forward a bit to help support herself, and she doesn't want to practice much to get better. She is more excited about being mobile, and she can't go anywhere if she is sitting on her butt!
